Azelia, officially the Kingdom of Azelia (Italian: Regno di Azelia; Interlingua: Régno di Azelia) is a self-declared independent state, more commonly known as a micronation to external observers, the Kingdom has territorial claims on italian land in Calci (PI) and Tirrenia (PI).
History
2015–2017
Azelia was originally founded in March 2015 by 24 classmates under the name of "The City-State Sa.Ca.Fi."(Italian: La Città di Santa Caterina Fifth). The city-state originally started as a money system inspired by a Clarence episode[1]. Later the sistem evolved comprending political election of a major (Full powers), a police force, a central bank, a cafe ("Il Bar"), a newspaper ("Il Giornale di Sa.Ca.Fi.") and a cigar company. Sa.Ca.Fi. collapsed on June 10th 2017 due to inflation and the lost of interest of it's citizens.
2017–2018
The second attempt to found a micronation took place in San Giuliano Terme (Pisa, Italy) by Filippo Cognetti and Emilio Pagan but after a year of work on the legislation the project was once again abandoned.
2023
The Regency
In 2023 the State of Azelia finally saw the light again after 5 years thanks to Filippo Cognetti assisted by Osea Rossini, Andrea Cafforio, Giovanni Zippel and Alessandro Martinasco. Thank to the retired president of Damazia, Samuele Cheli, Filippo Cognetti achived vital information for the develop of the nation. Samuele Cheli has been awarded the honorary title of Capitano di Vascello. Untill the 25/05/2023 referendum the state was a provvisonal republic governed by a regent.
The Monarchy
On 25/05/2023 a referendum took place to choose for the institutional form of state. The monarchy won with 57% of the vote (4 votes for monarchy and 3 votes for republic). On that same day Filippo Cognetti has assumed the title of king and nominated Osea Rossini prime minister.
Etymology
The name "Azelia" derives from the latin world Azazel which mean stronger than god.

The King
Filippo Cognetti Is the King of Azelia since 25/05/2023, he was never crowned but he still claim himself king even if he act more like a president.
Prime Minister
Osea Rossini is the Prime Minister of Azelia. The President of the Council of Ministers (Prime Minister) directs the general policy of the Government and is responsible for it. It maintains the unity of political and administrative guidelines, promoting and coordinating the activity of the ministers. The ministers are collectively responsible for the acts of the Council of Ministers, and individually for the acts of their dicasteries. The law regulates the Presidency of the Council and determines the number, powers and organization of the ministries.

Geography and climate
The State of Azelia is located in the Monti Pisani, a hilly system of the Tuscan Apennines, it is located at 50m above sea level, the land consists of a grassy plain with the presence of some pine trees while the Exclave of Giglio is located at 0m above sea level. , the climate of both territories is typically Mediterranean.
Economy
The economy is based on the Euro and italian lira (dismismissed in Italy), a local currency is planned.
The Valora, the US dollar, the Euro and the luigino are accepted for exchange and as a legal tender.
Food and Culture
The Azelian culture is very various, besides the mediterranean cusine large amounts of kebab and chinese ravioli are consumed. Beer is also a very important part of azelian culture and national identity, The Azelian national beer is Kozel (italian: Birra Kozel czech: Velkopopovický Kozel) produced in Czech Republic and imported in Azelia.
