The Republic of Islamica, more commonly known as Islamica, is a micronation mainly within the region of New England in the USA. The country was founded in 2021, by an unknown man, and leadership was soon taken over by de-facto first leader Shahan Sahir, who would legally win an election to become the first leader at the end of 2022 and become Mustard Shahan Sahir. Under his control, he established the government and Islamdale City, as well as co-writing the constitution, issuing IDs, and taking the first census. He built the first house on Islamican Land in 2022.[1]
There has been only a few candidates attempting to run throughout the country's history, primarily Shahan Sahir against his brother Shamir. The first election in the fall of 2022 ended up with Shahan barely winning. The country is governed by the Mustard, a position similar to presidency. Each state (region) has its own Duke, who informs the Mustard of happenings and takes his commands. The government has been decreasing in strictness over time, from being strictly Islamic to currently allowing Jews, Muslims, and Hindus citizenship and starting to allow a "green card"-style ID for other religions. Most of the laws from the Islamic Ten Commandments are still in use. The country's regions are currently Islamdale etvalley, Ibrahimi, and the lost isles of Haramica and Karamica. The Mustard is the Duke of Islamdale, and may pick the dukes of the other regions.
The nation plans to gain more independence and establish relationships with other micronations by 2024.
History
The nation was founded as Islamica around the beginning of July 2021 by an unknown man with 4 other people, including Shah Sahir & his brother Shamir Sahie. Nothing is known about this man whatsoever. After a few days, M. Shahan Sahir became the de facto leader of the country due to his mustache size, which at the time determined the ruler. Shamir Sahir drew a mustache while on camera and took over Islamica for a few days. No legislative work had been done. The first four citizens had all been friends for years at that point. Soon, the first flag had been created.
By the end of March 2022, the original capitol building had been constructed in Islamdale City. It had a firepit and path in front of it. Starting in these months, Islamican band 'The Kingsters' would begin releasing music. They continued into the summer. Over the summer, the first official IBA Basketball games took place in the state of Islamdale, closer to the valley. These games were recorded by Risa-Rupta Pictures. In October, the constitution's writing had been initiated. In November 2022, The Kingsters would release their final single on the 28th. Earlier in the month, the first Mustardial Election was held, where Shahan Sahir won barely. The initiative to increase the population had been announced and started action in June 2023. Successful results have come out of this with a double in population from Nichestaan, a state incorporated in December 2023.
The state of Nichestaan is a governing body operated by Ibraheem Lari and Shahan Sahir in the land of Nichestaan, historically inhabited around 2017, coming into its modern era in 2022 under the Brotherhood of the Basement. Upon incorporation in late 2023, it became the most populated state in Islamica. This state is also culturally significant for having been where the Kingsters first originated, as well as the country's spirit.
Etymology
The country was initially named "Islamica", but after reforms became known as "The Republic of New Islamica" by 2022. However, at this time it was still mostly referred to as Islamica. In 2023, changes in governing and a drafting of laws brought the government to call a general population meeting. The majority decided to include more than just Muslims and Jews by allowing more religions and ethnic groups to start joining. This led to the integration of the word Desi into the name, which is a self-given word used to describe Indians, Pakistanis, and a few other ethnicities. This led to the name changing to "The Republic of Desi-Islamica. For ease of saying, it was commonly shortened to Deslamica or Desica. Although this change was initially well received, the country reverted to Islamica in December 2023.
The original term "Mustard" for the Head of State literally means "Master" in Islamican. The word comes from old Japrinkan "Mastard", which referred to someone who was in charge. Since Islamican is derived from a mix of Urdu and Japrinkan and uses a script based on the old Japrinkan, it comes from vowel and writing changes. However, it is important to note that the current Islamican language is essentially only Urdu. It has been replaced by the term "Prime Minister."
The state of Nichestaan derives its name from the Urdu "Niche" meaning under or down, and the Persian "Stan", meaning "Land of", which is commonly used at the end of country names.
Politics and government
The country is currently drafting its laws. It will likely have some sort of court with a jury. There have been some attempted court trials.
Prime Minister
The Prime Minister of Islamica has many of, but not as defined powers as the President of the United States. These powers and responsibilities include overseeing government, country development, money, and appointing dukes. The Mustard is elected every year, although it is not legally defined to be. This role was formerly the Mustard's, but was changed upon the revert to Islamica.
Dukes
The Duke of a State is in charge of the governing of their respective state. These governing things include verifying the place of residence of their state for ID Cards, and the development of the state's towns. Currently, the Dukes are chosen by the Prime Minister every half year. Dukes will likely become obsolete, as they have in Nichestaan.
Law and order
The Constitution and Amendments
The majority of law comes from the constitution, and its amendments. It is mainly enforced by the Dukes/Councilmen currently. There are two main sections. The first section, Islamic Law, consists of Permanent Laws. These are laws based on the moral foundations of Islam. These include:
No Interest -- to an unfair extent
No Gambling -- Fined all money from pot + 7 Days Jail
No Prostitution -- First Offense: 5 Days Jail + 5000 Rupees, Second Offense: Ban & Deportation
No Alcohol Consumption (Excludes Medicines) -- 3 Days Jail + 5000 Rupees fine and bail
Section 2 consists of Federal Laws, which apply to the collective People of Islamica. Federal laws are nationwide laws that all the People of Islamica must abide by. Only the federal government may make laws that apply to the collective People of Islamica. State laws may be made by the Duke of each state, and affect people currently in the state only. The Duke of each state is currently selected by the Prime Minister.[2]
These laws are:
- Physically harming any people or animals is illegal, except if the animal is owned by you as livestock.
- Using weapons other than in self-defense is illegal unless it is done in the military with an ID on hand if possible. No person under the age of 12 may possess a weapon.
- Uncondoned destruction of another person’s property is illegal.
- No gays (LGBTQ) may have citizenship.
- Only Citizens may own land. Land must be bought from the government or the previous owner (legally owned) before development. Any ex-citizen’s land will be sold.
- Only the People of Islamica or a domestic company may sue in court. All People of Islamica have the right to use a lawyer in court, but will not be provided one for free. Lying in court is illegal and punishable by indefinite jail time.
- All People of Islamica should be respected equally and not be discriminated against, regardless of citizenship and religion.
- All People of Islamica may own and purchase goods, regardless of citizenship. Services can only be denied for a logical reason.
- All shops and stores must accept Islamican Rupees as payment. If they do not accept them, they may be condemned by the government.
- Each state must be an area of land containing at least one Islamican city. Each state will have a central library which will function as a database and governmental office.

These are used rather than changing the already made laws. States can pass their own legislation through their own amendments.
Nichestaan
In Nichestaan, two elected officials (Sahir & Lari) are in charge rather than Dukes. These officials are in charge of state laws, court trials, and keeping the peace. An actual court trial had occurred in Nichestaan as a result of these responsibilities and being in a holy area.
Military
The military only has one branch, known as "Del Landica," which regards war on land. There is no official soldier registry, but there is a multitude of Nerf guns in the country's arsenal. The capitol building is a de-facto military base.

Geography and climate
The climate is similar to that of New England. The country is not geographically bigger than a square mile.
Economy
The Islamican Economy has no value at the moment. It has been using its own rupees, but they have no real value at the moment. The stock market may eventually open with one of Islamica's media companies. Islamica currently has no exports or imports. The biggest industry is currently in film.
Culture
The majority of the population of the server are Pakistani Muslims.
The spoken languages include English, Urdu/Hindi, and Islamican, as well as some Arabic. The Islamican language was created as a mixture of the Japrinkan language and Urdu. It takes the Japrinkan writing system and simplifies the characters, and adds words from Urdu. Most words come from Urdu.
The entertainment industry primarily comes from Risa-Rupta Pictures, a television production company which also occasionally runs broadcasts at night. They produce short films and sitcoms. Another contender in the film and television industry is Shayan Salim's Drytoons, which are very similar to the discontinued Risa-Rupta 'SKZ Toons' series. Music comes mostly through Burstophone Records, which also sometimes distributes via Risa-Rupta Pictures. Their biggest successes came in the form of singles by pop band 'The Kingsters,' which caught on for being the first native music to Islamica. However, the band split up in Spring 2023. An upcoming complator film called "Bollywood Flick" is set for a 2024 release.
Holidays
Since the country is majority Muslim, Eid is a federal holiday. These days will be off at any federally run institutions. Here are the national holidays of Islamica. They are mostly Islamic Holidays, using a lunar calendar:
