The Republic of Zarkyiv (Indonesian: Republik Zarkyiv) is a micronation based in Central Java that declared independence from Indonesia in early 2022. It gained independence from Indonesia on 2 March 2022. Its founder is Manggala Alif Prasetia.
In early 2022, the population of Zarkyiv was around 2 people. Its official religion is Islam. In terms of income, the nation does not produce a net income meaning that it does not import or export goods unilaterally. Goods and services used by the people are mainly from Indonesia, China and other ASEAN countries. Zarkyiv has been ruled as a unitary presidential republic with an elected state legislature.
On 29 March 2022, the Islamic Sultanate of Qardasha raided the Discord server of Zarkyiv, forcing Manggala to surrender to the Qardaishan government. This led to Zarkyiv being annexed by Qardasha. However, Zarkyiv was later liberated by the Republic of Olov under Saleh A.H on 21 October 2022, during the 2022 Qardashian-Olovian cyber-warfare conflict, and it became an Olovian satellite state.
Etymology
The name Zarkyiv comes from two words, Tsar, a word that dates back to Ceaser, which after centuries evolved into the word "Kaiser", and later "Tsar", this meaning implies a ruler of a head of a state. And the word "Kyiv" which is derived from the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv. The name of Zarkyiv implies ruler of Kyiv, however Zarkyiv's border does not lie within Ukraine, meaning that the name itself can be defined as anything. Today, most people in Zarkyiv does not refer to the name as ruler of Kyiv, instead it refers to the name as some island or land.
History
The Republic of Zarkyiv was founded on 2 March 2022. The micronation is inspired by multiple countries in Southeast Asia and Africa. Zarkyiv was firstly regarded by the founder as a simulationist nation, later as a real state with a purpose in ideological venture, to raise awareness on Islam. And since 2022, the micronation is also a apolitical non-profit organization. The main goal is to promote not only peace but a unified global micronational system under a single entity. Zarkyiv was formed mainly though inspiration from other micronationalist states. It's first goal was to promote socialism, but when that plan failed, Zarkyiv decide to change its ideology completely to a unitary based Islamic republic under social democracy. Manggala Prasetia became the first president of the Republic of Zarkyiv. Under his rule, he made the proclamation of independence on 3 March 2022.

Geography
According to the slope level of land in Zarkyiv, 38% of the land has a slope of 0-2%, 31% has a slope of 2-15%, 19% has a slope of 15-40%, and the remaining 12% has a slope of more than 40%. Zarkyiv has a humid (> 0.65 p/pet) climate. The landscape is mostly covered with rainfed croplands, residential areas, and isolated stands of trees. The climate is classified as a Tropical Monsoon (short dry season, monsoon rains other months), with a tropical moist forest biozone . The soil in the area is high in nitosols, andosols (nt), soil with deep, clay-enriched lower horizon with shiny ped surfaces. Zarkyiv has a tropical monsoon climate (Am) according to Köppen climate classification. Average temperature varies little from month to month. October is warmest with an average temperature of 26.5 °C. July is coldest with an average temperature of 24.8 °C. The wet season has a rainfall peak around January. The dry season centers around the month of August, which has the most sunshine.
Administration
Military
Currently, Zarkyiv maintains a small military force and relies completely on the Olovian National Military for its defense. This dependency began when Zarkyiv became a satellite state of Olov on October 21, 2022.
The sole Olovian military presence in Zarkyiv is the Zarkiyyah Squad I/Farhan since 9 May, 2024. This squad is tasked with protect Zarkyiv's sovereignty in its entirety, with Farhan ZP as its lieutenant and commander of the squad. Farhan is also the supreme commander of the Zarkyivian Army.
Politics
The Second Shaleh System is the current government in Zarkyiv, with the president of Zarkyiv is the head of state and head of government of the Republic of Zarkyiv and is the highest state authority within the state. The incumbent president is Farhan ZP.
Foreign relations
The republic holds many relations with other mirconations, it holds relations with the Republic of Olov, Most Serene Republic of Richensland, and the Sultanate of Unova. It also has ties with the State of Vishwamitra and the Republic of Yu-Xia. Zarkyiv is a provisional member in LIN and is a member in SEAMA. Due to the Republic not having a foreign policy, it finds itself in very few options to to make bilateral relations with other Micronations, this resulted in the Republic having very few micronational allies, furthermore during the 2022 Arcadian War of Liberation, it played a role in conflict and created bad relations with other notable micronations.
